Having lived his whole life in Stillwater, OK, JJ is a big Oklahoma State University fan. It must run in the family because his uncle Charlie was the very first OSU “Pistol Pete” mascot. JJ is the youngest of three brothers including Scotte and Deno.

JJ has been playing drums for about seventeen years starting as far back as sixth grade band. He quit playing in the ninth grade because he found interest in FFA and football and quite frankly wasn’t much into marching. Not until after high school did he pick up the sticks again. While working at Mercury Marine, JJ would find himself at after-work jam sessions playing drums until the sun came up.

JJ started rodeoing when he was a senior in high school and rode bulls for about five years. He absolutely loved it and believes that bull riding is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives. Around this time he met Kelley Green through rodeos and the local night clubs.

Besides wake boarding, hunting, and studying Theology, one of JJ’s biggest passions is dirt bikes. His high school buddy, Smitty, had a sweet Camaro and two dirt bikes, JJ had a pick-up truck and no bike. If JJ would haul the dirt bikes, Smitty would let him ride one of them. To this day JJ rides and races as much as life will let him.
