Scotte Lester Scotte Lester
Born: January 31
Birthplace: Stillwater, Oklahoma
Hometown: Perkins, Oklahoma
Instrument: Rhythm Guitar / Vocals
Wife: Carla
Children: Cale, Laiken
Scotte was not only raised in Perkins, Oklahoma, but raised his children there, built three homes, and is still buying land to support his growing herd of registered Angus cattle. When Scotte says Perkins is home…he means it!

Besides his growing ranching and construction business Scotte enjoys playing outdoors, and he is fortunate enough to have his family share his enthusiasm. A Lester family vacation might include a deer or quail hunt in Western Oklahoma or a trip to an area lake for fishing and skiing. The Lester’s also spend plenty of time at the ball field. Pick nearly any month of the year and it is probable that one of Scotte’s kids is either on the football field, softball field, or basketball court. Not only do Cale and Laiken excel at sports and travel to destinations such as Kansas City for National softball tournaments and Hawaii for invitational football games, but Cale has his own band that has begun performing locally

On October 23rd, 1983, a United States Marine Corps barracks was bombed in Beirut creating the deadliest post-World War II attack on Americans overseas. On October 24th, Scotte Lester decided to join the Marine Corps. He proudly served four years and still carries an undying love for his country, fellow man, and the Marine Corps.

When Scotte learned to play guitar he was working for the Stillwater Fire Department. He always had access to instruments and live music thanks to his grandparents’ involvement in local bands, but it wasn’t until a fellow firefighter needed guitar accompaniment for his fiddle practice that Scotte became serious about his playing. Some The Great Divide’s first practices were held in a fire station while Scotte was on call. When the time came that the band decided to devote themselves to their music full time Scotte, with ten years service, was the first to show his devotion and quit his job.

Scotte still strives to be a better guitar player and singer and believes in The Great Divide as much as he did the day he quit his job in 1993. He has never looked back or regretted any decision he has made on his journey.
